5. Shopify and our online store

Our online store is hosted by Shopify. Shopify processes personal information when you visit our store, make a purchase or use Shopify services such as Shop or Shop Pay. Shopify may process information using systems and service providers located outside Australia.

Depending on the Shopify features enabled for our store, Shopify may also use information from your interactions with our store, other merchants and Shopify to provide fraud prevention, analytics, personalisation, advertising and other enhanced services.

6. When we disclose personal information

We may disclose personal information to third parties where reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this policy, including:

• Shopify and its affiliated companies and subprocessors;
• payment processors and financial institutions;
• delivery, fulfilment, warehousing and logistics providers;
• website hosting, information technology, security and customer-support providers;
• email, SMS and other communication providers;
• analytics, advertising and social media providers, where those services are enabled;
• accountants, insurers, lawyers and other professional advisers;

• a purchaser, investor or adviser in connection with a proposed or completed sale, merger, restructuring or transfer of all or part of our business.

We do not sell customer lists. Some privacy laws may, however, define particular advertising or data-sharing activities as a "sale", "sharing" or "targeted advertising". Where applicable, we provide the privacy controls or opt-out mechanisms required by law.

7. Overseas disclosure

Some of our service providers operate or store information outside Australia. As a result, personal information may be disclosed to or processed in countries including Canada, the United States, Ireland and other countries in which Shopify or our service providers operate.

Privacy and data-protection laws in those countries may differ from Australian law. Where required, we take reasonable steps to ensure overseas recipients handle personal information consistently with applicable privacy obligations.

8. Marketing communications

If you subscribe to our marketing, we may send you information about SURE Brewing products, releases, events and offers. You can unsubscribe at any time by using the unsubscribe link in an email, following the instructions in an SMS, or contacting us at sure@surebrewing.com.

Unsubscribing from marketing will not prevent us from sending transactional or service messages relating to an order or account.

If SMS cart reminders are enabled, cookies and checkout information may be used to identify an abandoned cart and send a reminder where you have provided the required consent. Mobile opt-in information and consent will not be shared with third parties for their own unrelated marketing purposes.

9. Cookies and similar technologies

We and our service providers use cookies, pixels and similar technologies to operate the website, remember your preferences, maintain your shopping cart, enable checkout, understand website usage, prevent fraud and, where permitted, measure or personalise advertising.

Cookies may be:

• necessary cookies, which are required for core website, account, cart, security and checkout functions;
• functional cookies, which remember choices and improve website features;
• analytics cookies, which help us understand website performance and usage; or
• advertising cookies, which help measure campaigns or provide more relevant advertising.

The cookies used can change as Shopify and other services are updated. Current information about Shopify cookies is available at https://www.shopify.com/legal/cookies.

You can control cookies through your browser and, where displayed, through our cookie banner or privacy-preferences controls. Blocking some cookies may affect the operation of the website, cart, account or checkout.

10. Analytics and advertising

We may use services such as Shopify analytics, Google Analytics and advertising tools provided by Meta, Google or other platforms. These services may collect information about your device, website activity, purchases and interactions with advertisements through cookies, pixels or similar technologies.

The services actually used by our store may change. Your available choices depend on your location and the services enabled. You can use our cookie or customer-privacy controls where available, adjust your browser settings, change your settings with the relevant platform or visit Shopify's privacy portal at https://privacy.shopify.com/en.

11. Sensitive information

We do not generally seek to collect sensitive information, such as information about health, racial or ethnic origin, political opinions, religious beliefs, sexual orientation, trade-union membership or criminal history.

If we need to collect sensitive information, we will do so with your consent where required and only where reasonably necessary for our functions or activities, or as otherwise required or authorised by law.

12. Legal drinking age and children

Our website and products are intended for people who are legally permitted to purchase alcohol. You must be at least 18 years old to purchase alcohol from us in Australia.

We do not knowingly collect personal information from children for the purpose of selling alcohol. If you are a parent or guardian and believe a child has provided personal information to us, please contact us so that we can review and, where appropriate, delete it.

13. Security

We take reasonable technical and organisational steps to protect personal information from misuse, interference, loss and unauthorised access, modification or disclosure. These steps may include access controls, secure systems, staff procedures and the security measures provided by Shopify and our other service providers.

No method of transmission or storage is completely secure. You should protect your account credentials and contact us promptly if you believe your account or personal information has been compromised.

14. Retention and deletion

We retain personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this policy, including to fulfil orders, maintain business and tax records, resolve disputes, prevent fraud and comply with legal obligations.

When personal information is no longer required, we take reasonable steps to delete it or permanently de-identify it, unless retention is required or authorised by law.

15. Access and correction

You may request access to the personal information we hold about you or ask us to correct information that is inaccurate, out of date, incomplete, irrelevant or misleading.

To make a request, contact us at sure@surebrewing.com. We may need to verify your identity before responding. We will respond within a reasonable period and will explain any lawful reason for refusing or limiting a request. We will not charge for making a request, although we may charge reasonable costs where permitted for providing access.

Depending on your location, you may have additional rights, including rights to request deletion, restrict or object to processing, withdraw consent, receive a portable copy of information, or opt out of certain targeted advertising or data sharing. These rights are subject to applicable legal exceptions.

16. Third-party websites and social media

Our website may contain links to third-party websites, social media services, Spotify playlists and other external content. Those third parties have their own privacy practices and policies. We are not responsible for the privacy, security or content of third-party services, and we encourage you to review their policies before providing information.
