Who is SURE?
SURE Brewing began with a friendship built around two loves: beer and music. Founders John Cope-Williams and Steve Matthews met while working in the beer industry, later joining forces during Melbourne’s final lockdown in 2021. With decades of experience between them, they shared a simple ambition—to make honest, full-flavoured beers they genuinely wanted to drink.
SURE launched its first two beers in March 2022: 100% Dynamight IPA and TRUE, a New Zealand-hopped lager. Since then, the range has grown to include hop-forward releases, collaborations, seasonal experiments and future classics.
SURE has no taproom or brewery venue of its own. Instead, the beers are independently developed and brewed around Melbourne, allowing the small team to focus on flavour, quality and creativity.
Music remains part of every release. Each can features a QR code linking drinkers to a specially curated Spotify playlist, bringing together great beer, good friends and the perfect soundtrack.
